“I’m going to pump up this podcast with a little electronica, something I don’t play enough of, frankly. Pedro Costa is a North Bay recording artist who makes all his stuff available for FREE

When I told him I wanted to play Fooled Again on the radio he wrote to tell me he “always had a passion for songwriting but it became a serious part-time activity for me late in 2008.”
Last year one of his songs “The Light” was discovered by national radio station Trojka in Poland (it’s kind of like the polish CBC). The song made it to #11 on their famous popular vote chart and made the top 100 for 2009. Instead of hoarding his music Pedro releases his songs as he creates them, working towards a full length album.

As President Obama goes through the ringer for not doing anything right regarding the Gulf of Mexico, I keep thinking about how George Bush would have reacted if it had happened under his watch… And then I thought: I need to make that Pedro Costa song my Track of the Day!

Amanda Putz the producer or Bandwidth on CBC radio stumbled upon “Fooled Again?” and will be featuring it on her show Bandwidth on Saturday June 5th, 5-6PM. This show originates in Ottawa but is broadcast across Ontario on CBC radio One.

This will be my biggest feature thus far in the Canadian market. In both Poland and Portugal my music has been played nationally on Trojka and Rádio Renascença respectively.

There wasn’t a lot of room separating the top 5 but the flawless execution by Damian William gave it the winning edge. Damian William is a French DJ, producer of electronic music. Specializing in French style House, Electro and Progressive House. His real name is Damien Chapus but he also used “Demonia” and “French Foundation” as a nickname. Born in Valence in the Rhone Valley, January 4, 1983, William Damian debuted in clubs of his hometown at age 16. He started producing music under various labels in 2004. In 2009 he decided to found his own label with his wife Sonya called “Lychee Records. In 2010 he was discovered by the producers of the track “Money” by David Guetta, Claude Njoya and Richard Bahericz. He released a remix of Big Ali “Make Some Noise.” And a few more follow up singles on his label, including the title “Starnight Party Theme”. Find more from Damian William on his myspace page. I’m thrilled that over the weekend it entered Lista Przebojów at #45.
The Light in contrast entered the chart at #47, and week after week climbed to an amazing #11.
It remained in the chart for a total of 10 weeks and is currently #2382 in the all-time database.

I am very pleased to release this new track for the upcoming album.
It is called “Can’t Get Through”. The emotions and the lyrics reflect on what a person feels like when they are trapped in an abusive relationship. One of the most powerful times I have felt this way was when in my job I was being bullied by my boss. But it can be applied to many scenarios.

In the end I worked through one of the most challenging tracks to produce so far, pushed my vocals to do new things, and really feel that I fully realized the vision that I had for the song. Very happy with the results

For an update on the album process: As you can see I am doing things a bit unconventionally by releasing singles before the album. But the process seems to be working for me thus far
I’m not committing to a finished date for the album, I will keep producing songs and once I feel it’s complete I’ll put the songs together and release it as a packaged product.
